Derui Jiang
Derui Jiang is the founder of AdditiveConnect Australia and an additive manufacturing professional based
in Melbourne, Australia.
Derui has years of experience in additive manufacturing research and industry-focused projects, with a
technical background spanning metal 3D printing, materials science, surface post-processing, finite
element simulation, quality assessment, biomedical implants, advanced engineering applications and
industrial component development.
His work has covered multiple stages of the additive manufacturing workflow, including design, material
selection, process development, structural simulation, prototype manufacturing, microstructural and
geometrical characterisation, mechanical testing and technology translation. He has contributed to
projects involving additively manufactured advanced engineering components, oil and gas components, biomedical
implant concepts, lattice structures and surface post-processing methods for complex internal geometries.
Derui's research and technical outputs include publications in additive manufacturing and biomedical
engineering, including work on additively manufactured auxetic structures for biomedical applications and
studies on the effect of strut geometry on the as-built quality and mechanical performance of electron
beam melted Ti-6Al-4V lattice structures. He has also been involved in intellectual property development
related to surface post-processing methods for additively manufactured parts with complex internal
geometries, auxetic implant structures, and small-joint fixation implant concepts.
Through his research and industry experience in Australia, Derui has developed a practical understanding
of what Australian industry users, research organisations and technical partners look for when assessing
AM suppliers, including technical credibility, material capability, quality control, certification,
engineering validation, application evidence and clear English communication.
Derui is also familiar with Chinese additive manufacturing companies and the communication challenges
that can appear when Australian users assess overseas equipment, materials, service providers and
technology partners.
AdditiveConnect Australia was created to bridge additive manufacturing capability between China and
Australia from a practical buyer-discovery perspective. The platform helps Australian users understand
relevant Chinese 3D printing equipment manufacturers, material suppliers, post-processing and inspection
providers, and industrial AM service companies.
The platform does not act as a certification body or guarantee supplier performance. Instead, it focuses
on supplier discovery, technical communication, manual enquiry review and responsible business
introductions.
