Independent beta platform

About AdditiveConnect Australia

An independent beta platform helping Australia's engineering and additive manufacturing community find relevant manufacturing, materials, testing and post-processing capability.

Our mission

Making Australian AM capability easier to find and compare

AdditiveConnect Australia was created to make Australian additive manufacturing capability easier to find, compare and access. The platform connects engineers, researchers, startups and manufacturers with relevant 3D printing, material, testing, post-processing and engineering service providers across Australia.

Why this platform exists

Capability exists, but it is often hard to navigate

Australia has strong additive manufacturing capability, but information is fragmented across company websites, research organisations, universities, testing facilities and specialist service providers. AdditiveConnect Australia aims to provide a practical starting point for finding the right capability from early design and material selection through to manufacturing, inspection, finishing and validation.

About the founder

Founded by Dr Derui Jiang

AdditiveConnect Australia was founded by Dr Derui Jiang, an additive manufacturing researcher and engineer based in Melbourne, Australia.

Derui has experience across metal additive manufacturing, materials science, surface post-processing, corrosion, mechanical testing, micro-CT-based quality assessment, finite element modelling and biomedical implant development. His work has covered applications in biomedical engineering, aerospace, oil and gas, and advanced manufacturing.

Through research and industry-facing projects, Derui has seen that one of the biggest barriers to adopting additive manufacturing is not only the technology itself, but knowing which process, material, supplier, testing route and post-processing pathway to choose.

What we are building

A beta directory and manual RFQ guidance process

The platform is currently in beta. It is building a public-source capability directory and a manual RFQ guidance process to help users navigate Australian additive manufacturing options. Supplier profiles may include publicly available information, supplier-submitted information and, where applicable, verified capability details.

Independence and disclaimer

Independent, beta-stage and practical

AdditiveConnect Australia is an independent platform. It is not an official platform of any university, research organisation, government agency or listed supplier unless explicitly stated. Supplier information is provided for navigation purposes and should be confirmed directly with the provider before making commercial, technical or regulatory decisions.
